This ship was built in South Korea in 1995 as Bunga Pelangi Dua and at the time this picture was added to the archives she had not been given any other names. The small vessel in fromt of Bunga Pelangi Dua is the motorbarge Luxemotor. She was likely built during the 1920s to tranport general cargo in a regular liner service. To day this kind of transport is carried out by trucks. This barge has being converted into a sportshanglerboat by means a new super structure and wheelhouse. The picture was taken in the Western Scheldt and the vessel likely belongs to someone in the Eastern Scheldt near the Isle of Tholen. There is a small lock located nearby in Oesterdam and in a location on the seaside of it a number of similar hanglerboats are secured waiting for guests to board for fishing trips. Thanks to Roy.M. Helleman for the information on this small vessel. Thanks to the World Ship Society's Marine News, The Fairplay Internet Register and past Lloyd's Registers |
