Nomadic Patria - Bergen, Norway

The 1977-78-built, 17,171-dwt, 14,013-grt multi purpose cargo vessel Nomadic Patria is seen in this photograph while she was transiting downbound in the Welland Canal during the afternoon hours of September 21st, 1998. At the time it was taken she was sailing northbound in the canal just north of lock 7 which is located in Thorold, Onterio, Canada.

She was built in Haugesund, Norway by Haugesund M/V A/S for the Finland Steamship Company and she entered service as Patria. In the time since her construction she has sailed as Patria (88), Ukraina (90) and Nomadic Patria. When this picture was added to the archives in November of 2002 she was still operational as such for Nomadic Management, Norway.
