Additional details

During the morning today, FLORENCE McKEIL & PITTS No. 11 moved into position at wharf 2 to load another large generator built by TRENERGY here in St. Catharines. A large specialized trailer with over 80 wheels was backed right off the dock and onto the barge's deck which had been ballasted down to match the dock level. Once the load was safely aboard, the pair returned to their moorings at the north end of wharf 2. There they spent the remainder of the day.

ARGUE MARTIN assisted WYATT McKEIL and the barge OC 183 up the canal through the night. After the tow had secured at wharf 16 in Port Colborne at 04:02 Argue Martin disconnected and began her return trip downbound. At 13:24 she tied up at the tug dock adjacent to Port Weller Drydocks. Wyatt McKeil & OC 183 remained at wharf 16 to wait for the high westerly winds to end.

ALGOWEST's conversion is progressing steadily at the drydocks. Today the 'slewing hinge' assembly was liifted atop the unloading box during the afternoon. It was held in place by Port Weller's 140 tonne travelling Clyde crane for over 6 hours while crews worked to brace the new unit and finally weld it in place. With this addition the loop belt housing both above and below decks is likely nearly complete.
